GREENWOOD – Lander golf head coach Mark Riddle announced the 2019-2020 schedule for the Bearcats on Tuesday. The finalized schedule features six events that Lander participated in last season.
The Bearcats will take part in nine total regular season events, four in the fall and five in the spring, before heading to the Peach Belt Conference Championship (Apr. 17-19).
The fall opens in September with trips to the Cutter Creek Invitational (Sept. 9-10) and the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate (Sept. 30-Oct. 1). Lander had its best finish of last season at the Cutter Creek Invitational, where the Bearcats took third and Caroline Hardee tied for first individually.
Lander will follow the trip to the coast with an appearance at the Patsy Rendleman Invitational (Oct. 7-8) in the first of two events in October. Riddle's squad wraps up the fall at the Jekyll-O-Lantern Intercollegiate (Oct. 28-29).
The spring portion of the schedule kicks off in the Sunshine State as the Bearcats head to St. Augustine, Fla., to take part in the World Golf Invitational (Feb. 10-11). Lander returns to South Carolina the following week to take part in the Converse College Spring Invite (Feb. 17-18).
The final month of the season opens with the Low Country Invitational (Mar. 2-3). Lander finished fourth at last year's event, led by Hannah Stephenson, who tied for first. The Bearcats participate in the Coker Invitational (Mar. 16-17) before wrapping up the regular season by hosting the Bearcat Invitational (Mar. 30-31) at The Links at Stoney Point. Lander recorded a fifth-place finish at the Bearcat Invitational last season.
