Cronje and Elliget earn ITA All-America status in doubles

GREENWOOD – Lander's men's tennis players Axel Cronje and Adam Elliget have been named to the 2019 ITA All-America team for their efforts in doubles play, announced by the association on Friday.

Cronje and Elliget become the 26th and 27th players in program history to garner NCAA All-America honors and the first doubles tandem to earn All-American status since Marc Hofer and Loic Minery in 2016.

The tandem collected 14 wins in the primary doubles position for the Bearcats during the 2018-19 campaign, notching a 7-2 mark in conference play. The two also earned first-team all-Peach Belt Conference honors and climbed as high as No. 3 in the ITA Division II doubles rankings before finishing the season at No. 5.

Cronje and Elliget are one of four PBC doubles teams to earn All-America status.
