No. 8 Bearcats begin NCAA Tournament against No. 4 Flagler

COLUMBUS, Ga. – The No. 8-ranked and fifth-seeded Lander men's tennis team (17-5) begins the NCAA Southeast Regional with an opening round matchup against No. 4-ranked and fourth-seeded Flagler (16-7) on Saturday morning at 11:00 p.m.

• Lander is making its 26th apperance in the NCAA Tournament. The Bearcats are 56-18 overall in the NCAA Tournament and are making their 14th consecutive appearance. Since joining the NCAA Division II ranks in 1992-93, the Bearcats have missed the NCAA Tournament just once. 

• The Bearcats and Saints have met once in the NCAA Tournament, with Lander earning a 5-1 win over Flagler in last year's Southeast Regional final. 

• Lander defeated Flagler 4-3 during the regular season.

• The Bearcats are 24-1 all-time in NCAA Tournament openers.

• A win over the Saints will give Lander its fifth consecutive 18-win season

• Seniors Ozan Cildir and Eirik Groner, junior Axel Cronje, and sophomore Adam Elliget were named to the All-Peach Belt team, giving Lander four All-PBC selections for the third consecutive season. 

• Cronje is ranked No. 50 in the latest Oracle/ITA Division II men's national singles rankings, along with Cildir at No. 57 and Groner at No. 65. Cronje and Elliget rank No. 4 in the national doubles rankings.
