LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The No. 5-ranked Lander men's is set to open the 2019 season at five-time NAIA national champion Georgia Gwinnett on Thursday afternoon at 2:30 p.m.

STORYLINES

• Lander is coming off a 22-4 record, an NCAA Southeast Region title, and a trip the NCAA Tournament Round of 16 last season. 

• The Bearcats have made the NCAA Tournament in 24 of the last 25 seasons. 

• Seniors Eirik Groner and Ozan Cildir were both tabbed as preseason all-Peach Belt Conference selections. 

• Cildir is ranked No. 17 in the ITA's Division II Singles rankings, while Groner is ranked No. 24. The duo sits at No. 21 in doubles. 

• The Grizzlies enter the season with an 82-match winning streak and have won five consecutive NAIA national titles. 

• Georgia Gwinnett won last season's matchup in Greenwood, 9-0. 

• Lander went 6-0 in road matches last season.
