No. 8 men's soccer faces No. 1 Young Harris for Southeast Regional title

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – The second-seeded and eighth-ranked Lander men's soccer team takes on top-seeded and top-ranked Young Harris in the NCAA Southeast Regional championship on Friday afternoon at 4:00 p.m.

• Lander (15-1-3) is making its 13th apperance in the NCAA Tournament. The Bearcat are 7-8-6 overall in the NCAA Tournament and are back in the Southeast Regional for the fourth consecutive season. Lander earned its first-ever trip to the NCAA Tournament in 1996. 

• The Bearcats met Young Harris (17-0-1) in last year's NCAA Southeast Regional title match, where the Mountain Lions earned a 3-2 win in double-overtime. 

• Lander has faced the Mountain Lions twice this season, falling 3-0 in Greenwood and battling to penalty kicks in the Peach Belt Conference Tournament championship, where Young Harris prevailed.

• The Bearcats are making their sixth all-time appearance in the Southeast Regional championship. The Bearcats won the Southeast Regional title in 2001 and 2005. 

Jordan Skelton was named to the D2CCA All-Southeast Region first team, while Thibault Chretien and Jacob Withers were named second-team all-region performers. 

• Friday will mark the first time the PBC has put two teams in the Southeast Region championship in back-to-back years since 2004-05.

• Lander is searching for its third appearance ever in the NCAA quarterfinals.
