Six Bearcats tabbed for All-Peach Belt Conference teams

GREENWOOD – The seventh-ranked Lander men's soccer team had six players named on Thursday as part of the 2018 All-Peach Belt Conference men's soccer team, as voted on by the league's head coaches.

Thibault Chretien earned All-PBC first team honors after finishing the regular season with two goals and five assists. Despite missing two matches early in the season and coming off the bench in eight contests, the sophomore from Laval, France, ranks third on the team in points.

Jordan Skelton landed on the All-PBC first team for the third consecutive season. The Bearcat captain has netted seven goals on the season, good for third in the conference. The senior from Newcastle, England, ranks fifth in the PBC in points and has anchored a Lander defense that has posted 12 shutouts on the season.

Oliver Brock, Richard Bryan, Kyle Ferguson and Jacob Withers were selected for the All-PBC second team. Brock, a senior from Mansfield, England, has one goal and four assists on the year. Bryan, a senior from Enfield, England, finished the regular season with two assists and helped Lander's defense post a league-leading 0.43 goals-against average. Ferguson, a sophomore from Hamilton, Scotland, scored two goals and added an assist while serving as a vital part of the Bearcat defense. Withers, a freshman from North Augusta, S.C., became Lander's starting goalkeeper midway through the season and shut out nine of the 11 opponents he faced, leading the league in save percentage.
