Title: Assistant Men's Basketball Coach

Dory Hines enters his first season as Lander's assistant men's basketball coach. Hines was hired in June of 2019.

Before arriving in Greenwood, Hines spent five seasons at Arendell Parrott Academy, the last two as head coach. The Patriots earned a berth in the NCISSA Tournament for the first time since 2011 and notch their first NCISSA Tournament win in nearly 20 years under Hines. Three Patriots were honored as all-conference selections under Hines, including Kris Wooten, who signed with Elon and made 19 starts as a freshman with the Phoenix.

Hines starred at Mount Olive from 2010-14, where he became the only four-year captain in Trojan men's basketball history. The Kinston, N.C., native was named the Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Year and became a two-time all-conference performer while leading UMO to the regular season league title as a senior and becoming the Trojans' career leader in assists.

A former two-time state champion at Kinston High School, Hines also served as the defensive coordinator for the Arendell Parrott Academy football team from 2014-2018, guiding the Patriots to two state championships.

Hines earned a degree in physical education from Mount Olive and coached on the AAU circuit with the Seventh Nation Warriors.
