Bearcats battle North Georgia in with postseason berth on the line

GREENWOOD – The Lander baseball team (14-31, 7-20 PBC) returns to action Friday to host its final home weekend series of the season against North Georgia (28-16, 15-9 PBC). The Bearcats and Nighthawks will play Friday at 6:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday at 1:00 p.m.

• Lander is playing its first home game in 10 days.

• The Bearcats need to win two games in order to clinch the eighth-seed in the Peach Belt Conference Tournament. Francis Marion advances to the PBC Tournament with two North Georgia wins.  

• Lander has drawn 196 walks this season, third-most in the conference

• The Nighthawks took two of three from the Bearcats in Greenwood last season. 

• A series sweep would give Lander its 10th consecutive season with a home winning percentage of .500 or higher. 

• Junior Carson Jones ranks fourth in the conference with 12 home runs this season. 

• Junior Robbie Hoyt is currently third on Lander's all-time appearances list with 67 in his career.
