MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Lander baseball team fell in game two of a Peach Belt Conference series on Saturday afternoon as No. 13 Georgia College scored seven runs over the fifth and sixth innings to claim a 9-3 win over the Bearcats.
Lander (12-23, 6-14 PBC) took a 2-1 lead in the top of the second inning on back-to-back RBI singles from Conner Davis and Justin Wager, but the Bobcats (26-7, 18-2 PBC) answered with the tying run in the bottom of the second and posted a four-run fifth inning and a three-run sixth to surge ahead, 9-2.
Davis, who had a 12-game hitting streak snapped on Friday night, drove in his second run of the day with an RBI triple in the top of the seventh, but Lander would get no closer as the Bobcats claimed the series with their 10th straight win.
