MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Lander women's tennis team suffered its first loss of the season Sunday afternoon when it dropped a 5-4 Peach Belt Conference match at the University of Montevallo.

Montevallo improves to 5-1 overall and 2-1 in the PBC, while Lander moves to 5-1, 1-1.

Anais Robert (M) 6-3, 6-1; No. 4 Allison Howell (M) def. Renata Mello (L) 6-2, 6-4; No. 5 Haley Highfield (M) def. Alyssa Savill (L) 6-2, 6-3; and No. 6 Cayce Bradley (L) def. Juanita Ossa (M) 6-2, 6-4.

In doubles, No. 1 Carolina Lainez/Cayce Bradley (L) def. Nikola Polcerova/Anais Robert (M) 8-6; No. 2 Allison Howell/Haley Highfield (M) def. Marion Courbis/Ivanka Mocic (L) 8-5; and No. 3 Tiffany Vanhpraseuth/Alyssa Savill (L) def. Liucija Smaizyte/Juanita Ossa (M) 9-8.
