GREENWOOD - Precious Elkins scored a game-high 26 points and grabbed 11 rebounds Friday afternoon to lead the No. 25-ranked Lander women's basketball team to a 79-65 victory over Southern Wesleyan in an exhibition game in Horne Arena.
Elkins connected on 13-of-20 field goals, while Lea Saunders netted 13 points and Ariel Parker 12 to lead the Lady Bearcat attack.
Southern Wesleyan was led by Christiana Perkins and Ashley Cooper with 18 and 11 points respectively.
Lander, which led 32-36 at halftime, connected on 35-of-72 field goals for 48.6 percent, including 3-of-17 three pointers. The Lady Bearcats also sank 6-of-11 free throws for 54.5 percent.
SWU was 19-of-60 from the field for 31.7 percent, including 5-of-22 threes for 17.6 percent. The Warriors made 22-of-31 free throws for 71 percent.
