MONTEVALLO, Ala. - The No. 38-ranked Lander women's tennis team got back on the winning track Sunday when the Lady Bearcats defeated the University of Montevallo, 9-0, in a Peach Belt Conference match.

Lander improves to 7-3 overall and 2-2 in the PBC, while Montevallo drops to 3-5, 1-4.

In singles, No. 1 Brandi Cordell (L) def. Alex Mangum (M), 6-0, 6-0; No. 2 Aurelia Ruffat (L) def. Helene Nordgreen (M), 6-0, 6-2; No. 3 Eliza Adusumilli (L) def. Emily Blackwood (M), 6-0, 6-2; No. 4 Caitlin Fell (L) def. Calli Robinson (M), 6-4, 6-0; No. 5 Nicola James (L) def. Amy McGucken (M), 6-1, 6-0; and No. 6 Melanise Newbold (L) def. Kodi Bobo (M), 6-4, 6-1.

In doubles, No. 1 Cordell/Ruffat (L) def. Nordgreen/Blackwood (M), 8-0; No. 2 James/Fell (L) def. Robinson/McGucken (M), 8-6; and No. 3 Zaia/Adusumilli (L) def. Mangum/Bobo (M), 8-6.
