GREENWOOD – Lander University's head coaches, assistant coaches, training staff, and departmental staff will be attending a Mental Health First Aid training on Tuesday August 6th and Friday August 9th.
This training will teach the staff how to identify warning signs of mental health and addiction concerns, risk factors, how to provide support, and refer them to a professional.
The MHFA training course is enhanced with the attributes, environments, challenges, and experiences of higher education in mind. The participants will learn course material and how to relate their awareness to real-life experiences.
The NCAA Division II and Peach Belt Conference plan to demonstrate the importance of mental health in order to best support student-athletes.
