Cross country teams travel to Augusta this weekend for Jaguar Invitational

Augusta, Ga. – After an historic opening race which saw the Lander men's cross country team make their first appearance since 1999 and the women return for the first time since 2008, the Bearcats are set to travel to Augusta, Ga., for the ninth annual Jaguar Cross Country Invitational. The race will be held at Episcopal Day School on Saturday with the men's 8k race starting at 8:15 a.m. followed promptly by the women's 5k at 8:45 a.m.

STORYLINES:

• Senior Dylan Scott was the first finisher for the Bearcats in last weekend's Eye Opener Invitational. Scott finished 42nd overall with a time of 29 minutes en route to a team finish of 5th overall at the event.

• Freshman Allie Reynolds led the way on the women's side last weekend with a time of 24:07 and a 75th overall finish.

• Tomorrow's invitational will feature four fellow teams from the Peach Belt Conference: Augusta, Clayton State, Francis Marion, Georgia College and USC Aiken (women only).
