COLUMBUS, Ga. — The Lander women's tennis team was shut out by No. 7-ranked Columbus State on Saturday afternoon, suffering a 9-0 defeat in a Peach Belt Conference match at the John W. Walden Tennis Complex.

The Bearcats end the season at 9-9 overall and 4-8 in PBC action, while the Cougars improved to 19-2, (12-0). 

In singles play, No. 1 Kirsa Utech (CSU) def. Yuriko Ono (LUW) 6-2, 6-1; No. 2 Beatriz Lopez (CSU) def. Ivanka Mocic (LUW) 6-0, 6-0; No. 3 Giorgia Vitale (CSU) def. Caroline Yodice (LUW) 6-0, 6-0; No. 4 Camila Tobar (CSU) def. Nelli Lius (LUW) 6-1, 6-0; No. 5 Olivera Tadijin (CSU) def. Julia Suzuki (LUW) 6-4, 6-0; and No. 6 Saravinder Pannu (CSU) def. Lucia Ric (LUW) 6-0, 6-0.

In doubles play, No. 1 Pannu/Utech (CSU) def. Lius/Mocic (LUW) 9-7; No. 2 Tobar/Lopez (CSU) def. Ric/Yodice (LUW) 8-1; and No. 3 Rachael Williams/Vitale (CSU) def. Suzuki/Ono (LUW) 8-5.
