Women's tennis set to host Clayton State, Montevallo

GREENWOOD – The Lander women's tennis team welcomes a pair of Peach Belt Conference opponents to the Joe Cabri Tennis Center this weekend as the Bearcats host Clayton State at 2:00 p.m. Friday and Montevallo at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

• Lander (7-5) is looking to get back above .500 in PBC play after dropping a pair of conference matches against Young Harris and North Georgia. 

• Six of Lander's seven players are .500 or better in singles play this season. 

• Lander boasts the top No. 2 doubles team in the Peach Belt, as senior Yuriko Ono and freshman Nelli Lius have gone 10-1 in the No. 2 spot. 

• Senior Ivanka Mocic leads the Bearcats in singles play with 9-3 mark on the year, including an unblemished 6-0 record in the No. 3 spot. 

• Lander defeated Clayton State on the road last season, while the Lakers won the last meeting in Greenwood.

• The Bearcats own a three-match winning streak against Montevallo.

• The two matches mark the final home weekend for the Bearcats. Lander's last three matches in conference play are all on the road.
