Women's tennis set to host Emmanuel on Friday

GREENWOOD – The Lander women's tennis team faces Emmanuel on Thursday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the Joe Cabri Tennis Center.

STORYLINES

• Lander (4-3) has not played since March 4, marking its longest break of the season.

• Senior Yuriko Ono is 5-2 at the No. 1 position in singles. 

• Ono and freshman Nelli Lius are 6-1 overall at the No. 2 doubles spot, including a perfect 3-0 mark in Peach Belt Conference play.

• Senior Ivanka Mocic is 5-0 at No. 3 singles. 

• The Bearcats faced Emmanuel for the first time last season, with Lander winning 8-1 in Franklin Springs, Ga.

• Lander has won nine of its last 10 matches against non-conference opponents. 

• The Bearcats are looking to snap a three-match losing streak after opening the season with four consecutive victories.
