Bearcats earn three PBC All-Academic team selections

GREENWOOD – Three Lander women's soccer student-athletes have been recognized for their outstanding accomplishments in the classroom as they have been named to the 2017 Peach Belt Conference Women's Soccer All-Academic Team.

Senior forward Hannah Martin (Irmo, S.C.) led the way with a 3.57 GPA in education while fellow senior forward Sara Flores (Kingston, N.Y.) posted a 3.50 while pursuing a degree in business. Senior midfielder Kari George (Tullahoma, Tenn.) rounded out the team with a 3.30 in business.

Martin is a three-time PBC All-Academic selection, while Flores has been named to the team each of the last two seasons. Martin led the team with six goals, while Flores ranked second on the squad with four goals on the year. George finished the season with a pair of assists. All three seniors played in all 16 matches this season.

In order to qualify for the Academic All-Conference Team, student-athletes must have been at their institution for one calendar year, have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or higher on a 4.0 scale and competed in at least 50-percent of their sport as a significant contributor. The GPA is calculated through the previous semester.
