GREENWOOD – The Lander women's golf team released its competition schedule for the 2018-19 season on Monday, as announced by head coach Mark Riddle.
The schedule features nine regular season tournaments, with four in the fall portion and five in the spring. The Bearcats will make trips to Florida, Georgia and North Carolina and Tennessee, as well as four tournaments scheduled in South Carolina.
"We are excited about bringing our women's golf program back," said Riddle. "We have a great group of young ladies coming in and we will be tested early, but we are excited about the opportunity to be playing in some great tournaments against some strong competition in 2018-19."
Lander opens its season with the Cutter Creek Invitational on Sept. 10-11 in Snow Hill, N.C., before participating in the Patsy Rendleman Invitational on Oct. 8-9 in Salisbury, N.C.. The Bearcats end the fall with back-to-back tournaments, taking part in the LeeAnn Noble Memorial in Dahlonega, Ga., on Oct. 15-16 and the Flagler Fall Slam in St. Augustine, Fla., on Oct. 22-23.
Lander begins the spring slate in Spartanburg on Feb. 18-19 in the Converse Spring Invite. The Bearcats then head to North Carolina for the Mars Hill University Spring Invitational in Fletcher on Feb. 25-26.
A pair of in-state tournaments are on Lander's schedule in March, as the Bearcats will take part in the Low Country Invitational in Bluffton on March 4-5 and the Terrier Intercollegiate in Hilton Head on March 16-17.
The Bearcats wrap up the regular season by hosting the Bearcat Invitational on April 1-2.
