Harris earns D2CCA first team All-Southeast Region honors

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Junior guard Jessica Harris from the Lander women's basketball team has been awarded All-Region honors from the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA), as announced today.

The Peach Belt Conference Player of the Year, Harris was tabbed as a first team All-PBC selection. She led the conference in points, assists, steals, and three-point percentage, logging 17.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. Harris is the only PBC representative on the first team. She has led the conference in assists each of the last two seasons. Harris recorded at least seven rebounds, steals, or assists in 19 games and was the only player in the conference to finish in the top-10 in the league in points and rebounds, assists, and steals, leading the league in assists and steals. She ended the regular season ranked in the top-25 nationally in six statistical categories.

Harris helped lead the Bearcats to the No. 5 seed in the NCAA Southeast Regional. Lander faces fourth-seeded Carson-Newman Friday night at 7:30 p.m. in Anderson, S.C.
