Men's tennis places three on PBC All-Academic team

GREENWOOD – Three Lander men's tennis players earned a spot on the Peach Belt Conference All-Academic team, the league office announced on Monday. 

The Bearcats named to the All-Academic team were Ozan Cildir, Marc Hofer and David Korsten

To be eligible for the All-Academic team, a student-athlete must: 1) participate in at least half of his/her team's events and be either a starter or significant contributor, 2) achieve a 3.3 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale), and 3) have completed at least one full academic year at his or her current institution.

Cildir, a sophomore exercise science major from Halmstad, Sweden, was 28-7 overall on the season, including a 9-1 mark in PBC singles play.

Hofer, a senior physical education major from Bern, Switzerland, was part of Lander's No. 1 doubles team, going 10-8 this year. 

Korsten, a junior business major from Cologne, Germany, is ranked No. 35 in the latest Oracle/ITA Division II Men's National Singles Rankings.
