No. 5 men's tennis beats North Greenville, 9-0

GREENWOOD  The No. 5-ranked Lander men's tennis team won its 12th consecutive match on Tuesday afternoon, blanking North Greenville 9-0 in a non-conference match at the Joe Cabri Tennis Center.

Lander improves to 13-2 overall, while North Greenville falls to 6-13. 

In singles, No. 1 Jules Vauthier (LU) def. Sjors van Eck (NGU) 6-2, 6-7 (10-7); No. 2 David Korsten (LU) def. Alejandro de la Torre (NGU) 6-2, 6-1; No. 3 Marc Hofer def. Jose Gomez (NGU) 2-6, 7-6 (11-9); No. 4 Ozan Cildir (LU) def. Dion Nijboer (NGU) 6-2, 7-5; No. 5 Alexandre Springer (LU) def. Edmundo Torres (NGU) 6-0, 6-2; and No. 6 Paul Arslanian (LU) def. Austin Schlarb (NGU) 6-0, 6-1.

In doubles, No. 1 Hofer/Omar El-Moslemany (LU) def. de la Torres/Nijboer (NGU) 8-4; No. 2 Vauthier/Cildir (LU) def. van Eck/Gomez (NGU) 8-4; and No. 3 Korsten/Eirik Groner (LU) def. Torres/Schlarb (NGU) 8-4.
