No. 5 men's tennis topples Young Harris, 7-2

GREENWOOD  The No. 5-ranked Lander men's tennis team earned its ninth consecutive victory on Saturday afternoon, defeating Young Harris 7-2 in a Peach Belt Conference match at the Joe Cabri Tennis Center.

Lander improves to 10-2 overall and 6-0 in the PBC, while YHC falls to 7-9, (3-5). 

In singles, No. 1 David Korsten (LU) def. Daniel  Tiboldi (YHC) 6-2, 7-6; No. 2 Jules Vauthier (LU) def. Alex Pavel (YHC) 7-6, 6-3; No. 3 Eirik Groner (LU) def. Mateo Besada (YHC) 6-1, 6-4; No. 4 Ozan Cildir (LU) def. Raul Quevedo (YHC) 6-1, 6-4; No. 5 Alexandre Springer (LU) def. Tim Fleerkamp (YHC) 6-4, 6-0; and No. 6 Javier Villar (YHC) def. Omar El-Moslemany (LU) 6-1, 6-4.

In doubles, No. 1 Pavel/Quevedo (YHC) def. Marc Hofer/El-Moslemany (LU) 8-6; No. 2 Vauthier/Cildir (LU) def. Jan-Niklas  Graetz/Villar (YHC) 8-1; and No. 3 Korsten/Groner (LU) def. Besada/Fleerkamp (YHC) 8-4.
