GREENWOOD  The No. 5-ranked Lander men's tennis team won its eighth consecutive match on Friday night, beating Belmont Abbey 8-1 in a non-conference match at the Joe Cabri Tennis Center.

Lander improves to 9-2 overall, while Belmont Abbey falls to 12-9. 

In singles, No. 1 Jules Vauthier (LU) def. Juan Baez (BAC) 3-2, (retired); No. 2 Eirik Groner (LU) def. George Barfoot (BAC) 6-2, 6-3; No. 3 Zach Blythe (BAC) def. Marc Hofer (LU) 6-2, 5-7 (10-8); No. 4 Alexandre Springer (LU) def. Carlos Nolasco (BAC) 6-2, 6-2; No. 5 Omar El-Moslemany (LU) def. Jacob Andress (BAC) 6-0, 7-6; and No. 6 Charles Baron (LU) def. Nikhil Reddy (BAC) 6-2, 6-1.

In doubles, No. 1 Vauthier/Ozan Cildir (LU) def. Grant Goldia/James Delaney (BAC) 8-2; No. 2 David Korsten/Groner (LU) def. Andress/Michal Rapsik (BAC) 8-1; and No. 3 El-Moslemany/Paul Arslanian (LU) def. Tomas Pardo/Nolasco (BAC) 8-2.
