No. 4 Lander plays host to USC Aiken Saturday

GREENWOOD – The No. 4-ranked Lander men's tennis team steps back into conference play this weekend with a 2:00 p.m. match against PBC rival USC Aiken on Saturday afternoon at the Joe Cabri Tennis Center.

STORYLINES

 Lander (7-2) will be playing its second match in three days after defeating Emmanuel 9-0 on Thursday afternoon. 

• Sophomore Eirik Groner has opened the season with nine consecutive victories in singles play.

• Lander is 17-1 in singles play against conference opponents this year.

 • The No. 3 doubles duo of Ozan Cildir and Jule Vauthier enters the weekend with an unblemished 7-0 record.

• Sophomores Ozan Cildir and Jules Vauthier have teamed up to go 7-0 in doubles play at the No. 3 spot.

• The Bearcats have won seven consecutive matches against USC Aiken, dating back to 2010.

• Since 2011, the Bearcats are 52-6 at home.
