GREENWOOD – Senior defender Jordan Skelton has been named to the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association's (D2CCA) All-America Second Team, the organization announced on Wednesday morning.
A first-team All-Peach Belt Conference and first-team All-Southeast Region selection in each of the last two seasons, Skelton led a Lander defense that shutout 16 of its 21 opponents and allowed 0.43 goals per match. A native of Newcastle, England, Skelton led the Bearcats with eight goals and five-game winners.
Skelton was a four-time PBC Defender of the Week and the PBC Player of the Week during the year, becoming the first field player in PBC history to earn five weekly honors in a single season. In his Lander career, Skelton made 74 starts in 79 matches, leading the Bearcats to a 57-13-9 record. He helped guide Lander to a pair of PBC regular season crowns, a PBC Tournament championship and an NCAA Southeast Regional title. He was a second-team United Soccer Coaches All-American last season, as well as a D2CCA third-team All-American selection.
Skelton is the 14th NCAA All-American in program history and the first player to earn All-American honors in back-to-back seasons since Luke Ibbetson in 2004-05.
