No. 8 Bearcats meet No. 20 Barry in NCAA Tournament quarterfinals Sunday

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – The eighth-ranked Southeast Region champion Lander men's soccer team heads to the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals for the first time in 13 years to meet 20th-ranked South Region champion Barry on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at Young Harris College.

STORYLINES

• Lander (16-1-3) is making its 13th apperance in the NCAA Tournament. The Bearcat are 8-8-6 overall in the NCAA Tournament and are back in the quarterfinals for the first time since 2005. Lander earned its first-ever trip to the NCAA Tournament in 1996. 

• Barry (14-4-2) is returning to the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals for the first time since 2000. 

• The Bearcats have tied their deepest postseason run in NCAA history. Lander advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals in 2001 and 2005. 

• Lander's 16 wins this season are the most for the program since 2006. 

• The Bearcats have held its opponents scorless over the last 904:16, a program record.

• A Peach Belt Conference team has won the Southeast Region title each of the last two seasons. 

• Lander is searching for its first appearance ever at the NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Final Four.
