GREENWOOD – Two members of the Lander men's soccer team were honored by the Premier Development League on Tuesday as All-Southern Conference players.
Rising senior defenders Jordan Skelton and Richard Bryan were both selected as all-conference performers after leading Mississippi Brilla FC to an 8-2-4 record and a second-place finish in the Deep South Division. Skelton was named as one of three all-conference defenders, while Bryan earned an honorable mention.
Skelton, played every single minute of all 14 matches, tallying 1,260 minutes on the season. The Newcastle, England, native collected four clean sheets, three goals and one assist. He was named the No. 6 prospect in the PDL.
Bryan, a native of Enfield, England, ranked second on the team in goals, assists and shots. On the year, Bryan netted four goals on 14 shots and recorded two assists. He played all but nine minutes during the regular season.
Lander opens the 2018 campaign on Aug. 31 with a home match against Alabama-Huntsville at 7:00 p.m. at Van Taylor Stadium.
