GREENWOOD – The Lander men's golf team held third-place from wire to wire at the 10th annual Bearcat Classic at the par-72, 6,800-yard Greenwood Country Club, closing with a 2-over 290 on Tuesday.
Lincoln Memorial claimed the tournament title with a 3-under 861. Clayton State finished four strokes back, tallying a 1-over 865 for second place. Georgia Southwestern and Newberry each posted a 6-over 870 to finish four strokes behind Lander in a tie for fourth.
Dan Bradbury of Lincoln Memorial earned medalist honors with a 8-under 208.
Jon Parker led the Bearcats with a 3-under 213 and was named to the all-tournament team, finishing fourth in the 110-player field. Michael Brodie and Garrett Atkinson both for 19th by posting a 1-over 217. Maxime Legros tied for 41st with a 6-over 222 and Connor Cull shot an 8-over 224 to tie for 48th.
Lander was the only team in the 22-team field to have three players finish in the top-20.
