ALBANY, Ga. – The Lander men's golf team closed with a strong final round to finish fifth out of 13 teams at the Hurricane Invitational on Tuesday at Doublegate Country Club.
The Bearcats shot a 285 on the day, led by Maxime Legros' team-best 70. Legros finished the tournament tied for seventh. Michael Brodie carded a 72 to finished tied for 17th. Conor Cull also recorded a 72 in his final round, tying for 29th. Jon Parker shot a 71 on Tuesday, finishing tied for 38th. Roberto Garagorri tied for 42nd to round out the Bearcat lineup. Playing as an individual, Braydon Evans tied for 54th.
Southern Arkansas won the event with a team scored of 868, while Georgia Southwestern and Young Harris tied for second with scores of 871. Clayton State came in fourth with a score of 872 and Lander edged Georgia College by two strokes for fifth place, shooting 881 for the week.
The Bearcats will return to action when they tee off on Mar. 11 at the Southeastern Collegiate in Valdosta, Ga.
