No. 20 men's golf charges to third-place finish at Jay Jennison Cup

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The 20th-ranked Lander men's golf team shot a 10-under 278 in the final round of the Jay Jennison Cupl to finish third in the 15-team tournament on Tuesday afternoon at the World Golf Village Slammer & Squire Course. 

The Bearcats finished six shots behind Young Harris with a 54-hole total of 868. Barry won the tournament with an 830 total, while Rollins and USC Aiken rounded out the top-five. 

Lander was one of only two teams to have at least four players shoot par or better in the final round as the Bearcats rose six spots on the leaderboard over the final 18 holes. 

Jon Parker finished tied for sixth, shooting a 2-under 214 for the tournament. Connor Cull debuted for the Bearcats with a top-10 finish, tying for eighth with a 215 total.  Charlie Farrell finished in a tie for 17th, shooting a 218 on the week.

Maxime Legros and Michael Brodie each shot a 221 to tie for 34th. Garrett Atkinson tied for 74th with a 234. 

Lander travels to Daniels, W.V., next week for the NCAA Division II Preview.
