No. 17 men's golf finishes 14th at South/Southeast Regional

CONOVER, N.C. – The No. 17-ranked Lander men's golf team finished 14th overall out of 20 teams in the three-day, three round NCAA Division II South/Southeast Regional on Wednesday at the par-71, 7,407-yard Robert Trent Jones, Jr., Course at the Rock Barn Golf & Spa.

West Florida won the team championship with a 12-under-par 840, while Florida Southern finished three shots back. Barry finished at one-over for third place. 

Sophomore Conor Richards finished tied for 15th after firing a one-over 72 in the final round. Junior Michael Brodie tied for 37th with a three-over 74 on Wednesday. 

Senior Garrett Atkinson used a one-over 72 to end the tournament in a tie for 64th. Sophomore Jon Parker tied for 94th, while senior James Bartlett tied for 96th. 

Wednesday marked Lander's final round under the direction of head coach Chipper Bagwell. In his 13th season as head coach, Bagwell led the Bearcats to their seventh NCAA Tournament appearance and third in as many years.
