No. 7 golf in 15th place at NCAA South/Southeast Regional

FLORENCE, Ala.  The No. 7-ranked Lander men's golf team is 15th after the first day of play at the NCAA South/Southeast Regional at the par-72, 7,407-yard Fighting Joe at Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail with a first-round total of 300. Lynn leads all teams after carding a four-under par, 284, in their round Monday, and lead second-place West Florida by two shots heading into the second round of play Tuesday.

The Bearcats counted an even-par 72 from freshman Conor Richards, a 75 from junior James Bartlett, a 76 from sophomore Michael Brodie, a 77 from senior Michal Pospisil and threw out an 81 from freshman Jon Parker.

Lander must finish in the top seven teams to advance to the NCAA Championship in Kissimmee, Fla., May 22-26.

The second round of the tournament continues on Tuesday with the Bearcats teeing off at 7:30 a.m.
