No. 7 Lander in 2nd after 1st round of PBC Championship

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — The No. 7-ranked Lander men's golf team sits in second place after the first round of the Peach Belt Conference Championship at the par-72, 6,939-yard Slammer & Squire Course at the World Golf Village in St. Augustine, Fla.

The second round will be held Saturday, with the tournament coming to an end on Sunday. The Bearcats shot a two-over 290 on Friday, trailing the leader USC Aiken (288) by just two strokes. 

Lander is followed by: 3. Georgia College 291, T-4. Georgia Southwestern and Young Harris 293, 6. Columbus State 296, T-7. Armstrong State and Flagler 300, 9. Clayton State 301, 10. Montevallo 306, and 11. North Georgia 308.

Individually, Conor Richards (71) and James Bartlett (71) are tied for third; Michal Pospisil (74) and Jon Parker (74) are tied for 20th; and Michael Brodie (75) is tied for 26th. 

Lander will begin play Saturday paired with USC Aiken and Georgia College at 9:54 a.m.
