Lander golf holds three-stroke lead at Bearcat Classic

GREENWOOD  The No. 17-ranked Lander men's golf team leads the 18-team field after two rounds at the 8th Annual Bearcat Classic at the par-72, 6,800-yard Greenwood Country Club. The tournament will conclude with the third and final found on Tuesday.

Lander shot an eight-over 584 on the first day and is followed by: 2. Newberry 587, 3. Georgia College 588, 4. Coker 591, 5. Anderson 593, T-6. Lincoln Memorial and Brevard 595, T-8. Lenoir-Rhyne, Flagler and West Georgia 598, 11. Erskine 599, 12. Wingate 603, 13. Belmont Abbey 605, 14. Barton 607, T-15 North Georgia and King 611, 17. Mount Olive 626, and 18. Eckerd 632.

Individually, Michal Pospisil (70-67) leads the field; Conor Richards (72-73) and Chris Kendall (71-74) are tied for seventh; Michael Brodie (77-73) is tied for 33rd; James Bartlett (76-77) is tied for 53rd; Jon Parker (78-76) is tied for 60th; and Roberto Garagorri (85-87) is 92nd.
