Baseball faces No. 24 Columbus State this weekend in PBC play

GREENWOOD – The Lander baseball team returns to Peach Belt Conference action this weekend as the Bearcats play host to No. 24-ranked Columbus State in a three-game series at Dolny Stadium. Games are scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Friday, 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, and 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.

 STORYLINES

• Lander (8-15, 4-5 PBC) is playing its first home conference series in three weeks. 

• Columbus State (14-6, 4-2 PBC) swept Augusta in its first PBC series before losing two of three to UNC Pembroke. 

• The Bearcats are averaging 9.2 runs per game at home in conference play. 

• Lander has outscored its opponents 61-20 in the first three innings this season. 

• The Bearcats have 23 home runs through the first 23 games.
