Bearcats drop midweek to No. 8 North Greenville

GREENWOOD – The Lander baseball team managed just two hits on Wednesday night as the Bearcats fell to No. 8-ranked North Greenville 10-2 at Dolny Stadium.

Lander (8-15) rallied from a 1-0 deficit when Vinny Addona raced home on an outfield error to tie the score in the bottom of the third, but the Crusaders (18-6) plated a run in the fourth to reclaim the lead before breaking things open with a three-run fifth and a five-run seventh to put the contest out of reach.

The Bearcats scored their final run of the evening when Landon Dupert launched his first career home run over the right field wall in the bottom of the ninth.

Lander opens a three-game series in conference play against No. 24-ranked Columbus State on Friday evening at 6:00 p.m.
