LU Baseball's Ergle named PBC Freshman of the Week

GREENWOOD - Lander baseball's Tripper Ergle was named the Peach Belt Conference Freshman of the Week it was announced today by the PBC office.

Ergle made one start and one relief appearance for the Bearcats last week, giving up only one hit and no runs in 5.2 innings of work. The freshman from Blythewood, S.C., got the start against Limestone working two innings with one hit allowed. That hit came to the first batter he faced, he then proceeded to strike out six in a row. He struck out six more in his 3.2 innings of work in a 5-4 loss to North Georgia in Saturday's game.

Ergle worked 3.2 innings of no-hit ball, walking two with the six strikeouts in a no-decision. In 27 innings of work this season, Ergle is striking out 11.67 batters per nine innings.
