Lander athletic director Jeff May announced today that women's golf will be added to the Bearcat athletic program and begin play in the fall of 2011....[full story] | 6/22/2010Ninety-three student-athletes named to PBC Honor Roll GREENWOOD - Ninety-three Lander University student-athletes were named to the Peach Belt Conference Presidential Honor Roll it was announced at the PBC's Annual Meeting.
To be named to the Presidential Honor Roll, a student-athlete must achieve at least a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale for the academic year. GREENWOOD---With his shirt of radiant ageratum and fur of portulaca, the Lander University Bearcat has been brought to life in all of his floral glory in Uptown Greenwood as part of the South Carolina Festival of Flowers topiary display. Lander faculty, staff, students and alumni will celebrate Lander Bearcat Day on Tuesday, June 15, from 7-9 p.m. around the topiary, which is on display near the Countybank plaza across from Inn on the Square in Uptown Greenwood. | 2/4/2010May RWS Complex now under construction
GREENWOOD - The Jeff May Recreation, Wellness and Sports Complex, Lander's new athletic facility being built on Montague Avenue, began construction on Jan. 4, 2010 with the grading phase. The soccer stadium is scheduled to be finished by Aug. 15, 2010. The Complex completion date is October 2010, while baseball, softball and tennis venues will be ready in Spring 2011....[full story]
